First things first:  I am not the listing agent for this home.  Ok, got that out of the way.  I was simply curious today what the luxury homes for sale market looks like in Louisville, and more specfically, what new homes were available that could be classified as Louisville luxury homes.  It is interesting that 40% of the top 10 most expensive custom built homes in Louisville are all available in Harrods Glen subdivision in Prospect Ky!  In case you are interested in this home that is pictured, it is almost 11,000 square feet including the lower level is currently listed for sale with another brokerage for $2,400,000.  If you think that you might like to live in this subdivision, but don’t feel like payng quite that much, don’t worry, I happen to have a listing for a home that is to be built for only $1,399,000!

Sometime last year the president of Miter Construction stopped by our Louisville real estate office to discuss the state of the Louisville Luxury Home market. During our conversation, I found out that he had actually built and sold about 5% of all of the luxury homes that had sold in Louisville that year!

This past weekend I visited Norton Commons subdivision to see the homes held open by some of Louisville’s best home builders.  Most of the homes that were held open as part of the “Welcome Home Tour” were about 2,000 to 2,500 sq ft and were a lot of fun to check out.  In fact, these homes will be open again this weekend if you have any desire to go see for yourself.  On my way in, and out, of the subdivision, I happened to drive by the most expensive home currently for sale in Norton Commons.  I must point out that I am not the listing agent for this home, simply that I thought it was a cool looking home and worthy of a picture.

In the coming months, Louisville custom home builders will be opening their Norton Commons homes for sale for curious home buyers to stop by and take a look during the development’s “Welcome Home” tour. In May, the builders in Norton Commons will open a few of their homes to let everybody see the high quality homes which are available in one of Louisville’s most desired neighborhoods on the East side of Louisville and into Prospect. As an example of what you will see if you come out to visit, I have provided a picture provided by one of the builders. This picture is of the detail of the ceiling of the front porch on one of the homes you will be able to see when you come to Norton Commons in May.
